The Uttarakhand government has transferred 45 officials, including 39 IAS officers, in a significant administrative reshuffle on Wednesday. The reshuffle also affected two principal secretaries and eight other secretaries.
Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, a 1997 batch IAS officer, has been removed as Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department. However, he will continue to serve as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and the Department of Forest, Environment Protection, and Climate Change.
In another key move, IAS officer Ranjit Kumar Sinha replaced Lalrinliana Fanai as the Principal Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department and Chairman of the Minority Welfare and Waqf Development Corporation. Fanai will now lead the Excise Department and the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department. Additionally, he will serve as Chairman of the State Transport Department.

Further changes saw R. Meenakshi Sundaram, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, replaced by Deepak Rawat. Ravinath Raman has taken over as Higher Education Secretary, replacing Shailesh Bagauli. Pankaj Kumar Pandey now serves as Labour Secretary and Chairman of the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The reshuffle also impacted one Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and five Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers, further highlighting the comprehensive nature of the changes made by the state government.
