Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday held a roadshow in Maharashtra's Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency. Gadkari offered prayers at his residence before filing his nomination.

Emphasizing the need for cost-effectiveness, Gadkari urged concerted efforts to reduce overall project costs and extend an invitation to the private sector to actively participate in these ventures.

The minister said the length of four-lane-plus NH network, including high-speed corridors, has increased by more than 250 per cent from about 18,371 km in March 2014 to about 46,179 km so far.

The ministry has also placed a strong emphasis on upgrading less than two-lane non-highway (NH) areas to a minimum of two-lane or two-lane with paved shoulders.

This event marks a collaborative effort between academia and industry, driving a unified movement aligning with the Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

The trapped workers are receiving essential supplies, including food, water, and oxygen, as rescue teams intensify efforts.

As of now, the distance from Delhi to Katra is 727 km and with the construction of this route the distance will be curtailed by 58 km.

He revealed plans for the upcoming Urban Extension Road 2, a major ring road project in Delhi, which is set to open in 2-3 months.
