Khemchand Singh has been in the national capital since October 10 to discuss the state’s priorities with the Centre. During his visit, he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
Officials said all three Ministers indicated that they would visit Manipur soon.
During his meeting with Singh on Thursday, Shah assured the Chief Minister of the Centre’s full support in restoring peace, promoting development and addressing the aspirations of the people of Manipur.
A senior official from the Chief Minister’s Office in Imphal said Shah acknowledged the state government’s ongoing efforts to restore normalcy.
Singh briefed the Home Minister on measures taken by the state government to improve the situation, including the resumption of the Imphal–Dimapur–Guwahati bus service.
Inter-state passenger bus services connecting Manipur, Assam and Nagaland resumed on August 21 after remaining suspended for more than three years.
The restoration has improved connectivity and eased travel for residents across the three northeastern states.
