This year sawan will start from July 4, 2023. To celebrate the holy month by praying to Lord Shiva, devotees visit temples across the nation. In addition to praying, they also keep a fast. To feel fit and active all day, it is essential to be hydrated. Buttermilk, coconut water, lemon water, homemade iced tea, and other hydrating beverages could be a good option to keep you hydrated as they replace electrolytes.

Nuts are a great source of essential nutrients and energy. You can eat figs, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and other types of nuts while observing fast. You’ll feel satisfied and energised after eating these nuts since they include good fats, proteins, and dietary fibre.

Fruit consumption is a quick and healthy way to boost energy levels during fasting. Bananas are a wonderful option since they are rich in potassium and natural sugars, which provide energise the body quickly.

While observing fast it crucial to break the fast in the right way. Avoid eating large meals that could seriously upset your stomach. It’s important to eat food in moderation and stick to lighter options to promote digestion.

Spices should be avoided during a fast to prevent pain and heartburn. Red chilli powder, coriander powder, table salt, and any spices besides Himalayan salt(sendha namak) should not be consumed during Sawan.
