Most People Get ‘Healthy Eating’ Wrong, Says Cardiologist Dr Sanjay Bhojraj

In a recent insight shared on Instagram, cardiologist and functional medicine expert Dr Sanjay Bhojraj addressed a common and frustrating experience. Doing all the right things, eating healthy, walking regularly, and exercising multiple times a week, yet still feeling bloated, exhausted, and unable to shed weight.

According to Dr Bhojraj, the problem lies not in the effort but in the approach.

“You’re eating “healthy”… so why do you still feel tired, bloated, or off?” Dr Bhojraj asked in his July 14 post. The answer, he said, lies in the fact that most people are following standard dietary advice or trends that were never designed for their unique biology.

Instead of personalisation, many adhere to outdated rules that simply don’t suit their individual needs.

Why the Weight Won’t Budge

Dr Bhojraj explains that when people follow generic food rules, it can lead to persistent health problems.

Difficulty losing weight, poor sleep, and even concerning blood test results. “Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s data. It’s biology. It’s personal,” he wrote, stressing the importance of tailored nutritional plans.

At his clinic, he helps patients lose up to 30 pounds in 10 weeks without shortcuts or harming long-term health.

This approach, known as precision nutrition, is rooted in functional medicine.

Rather than following restrictive or trend-driven diets, it focuses on how your unique body responds to certain foods.

Dr Bhojraj says this method not only improves weight management but also boosts energy, regulates blood pressure, and promotes overall longevity. “It’s a ripple effect,” he noted.

Dr Bhojraj concluded his message with an empowering reminder, “Your body isn’t the problem. Your plan is.”

The key takeaway? Stop blaming your body when your health goals feel out of reach. Instead, reevaluate your approach, seek personalised guidance, and embrace nutrition strategies that work with your body, not against it.

As more experts like Dr Bhojraj highlight the importance of customised wellness plans, a shift from one-size-fits-all diets to precision-based nutrition may become the new standard.

Struggling despite healthy habits? The answer may lie in understanding your biology and tailoring a plan to match.
