Maharashtra, Gujarat’s neighbour facing flood
Maharashtra, Gujarat’s neighbour state, is also experiencing flood-like conditions as well. The state has been urged to exercise caution by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as a result.
It has issued an orange signal for Sunday’s potential for isolated areas of heavy to very heavy rain in the Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts.
In the state, there are ongoing rescue efforts. One of the events involved an operation by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday in Yavatmal to rescue individuals who were trapped in Anand Nagar village because of a flood.
Rescue efforts have begun in the interim as authorities work to relocate citizens from low-lying areas to safer locations. The state government has urged citizens to exercise caution and to get in touch with the control centre in case of an emergency. They have also been told not to go to the dams and the surrounding areas.
