Police reported on Thursday that a five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed by her 20-year-old neighbour in the Pharenda neighbourhood of Uttar Pradesh
On Wednesday, the girl was playing outside her house when the suspect, who has been named as Mohit, allegedly lured her to his house under false pretences and raped her.
The victim later told her family members about the incident, and they reported it to the police. They also stated that Mohit was detained and booked in the case.
Police teams were deployed as soon as the family filed the complaint, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Pharenda) Anuj Kumar Singh, and the accused was taken into custody.
