Sharp Increase In Covid- 19, Cases Soar Over 7,800 Today: Health Ministry Report

According to the data released by Health ministry, The number of new corona virus infections in India rose by 7,830 on Wednesday, the most in 223 days, and the number of active covid- 19 cases has risen to 40,215.

With 16 new fatalities, the total number of deaths from the infectious disease has reached 5,31,016. Of these, occurred in each of the following states: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Kerala reconciled five virus-related deaths, according to the data updated.

The number of Covid-19  cases reported in the nation has increased to 4,47,76,002 as a result of the infection count reported today, which represents a sharp increase from the 5,676 cases reported yesterday.

The nation recorded a single day jump of 7,946 Covid -19 cases from 1 September 2022.

22 states and Union Territories have reported 1,774 cases of the XBB1.16 variant. XBB1.16.1, the mutated sub-variant of Omicron, has been contracted by over 230 of the infected patients, according to data from the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG).

According to the health ministry website, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been measured at 98.72 percent, and active cases currently compensate 0.09 percent of all infections.

The data showed that the number of people who have healed from the illness has doubled to 4,42,04,771, while the case fatality rate was noted at 1.19 percent.

The national COVID-19 vaccination drive has resulted in the administration of 220.66 crore doses of vaccines in the country thus far, according to the ministry’s website.
