Several Trains Cancelled Due To Water-Logging Along Tracks, Says Northern Railways

The information regarding cancelled, short terminated or diverted trains is available on Northern Railways’ official website.

According to Northern Railways’ some of its trains have been temporarily cancelled due to heavy rain and water logging along the track of several lines while others have been redirected or short-terminated.

The cancelled trains are Ambala-Amb Andaura-Ambala Special JCO, Firozpur-Jalandhar Cantt-Firozpur Special JCO, and Jalandhar Cantt-Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar Cantt Special JCO, all of which were set to leave from their respective stations on Saturday.

Trains that have been diverted include the Jammu Tawi-Jodhpur Express, the Dehradun-Amritsar, and the Dehradun-Saharanpur.

The information regarding cancelled, short terminated or diverted trains is available on Northern Railways’ official website. The Northern Railway’s general manager told ANI on Thursday that the railways had to halt train services as a precaution due to the flood-like situation.

“It rained heavily on July 8-9…The rain that happens in the mountains comes down to the plains, and as a result, many of our tracks got submerged. So as a precautionary measure, we had to stop the train service,” said General Manager of Northern Railways, Shobhan Chaudhuri.
