On Wednesday, the first day of the seven-day rituals before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the magnificent Ayodhya temple, the idol of Lord Ram Lala will be taken inside the Ram Temple.
Today marks “parisar pravesh” or “entry” into the temple, where a procession will convey the idol of Ram Lala, carved in black stone by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj. Additionally, devotees would bring jars, or “kalash,” filled with water from the sacred Saryu river to the shrine.
Since last night, plans have been underway to move the idol to the new Ram temple complex. With the assistance of others, the “somewhere between 150-200 kgs” idol was loaded late at night into a flower-decked vehicle for the procession.
The idol will enter the Temple premises at approximately 1:20 pm, following a series of rites, according to Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Before the idol of Ram Lala is carried into the temple complex, Jal Yatra, Teerth Pujan, Brahmin-Batuk- Kumari-Suvasini Pujan, Vardhini Pujan, and Kalashyatra will be conducted.
Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra said, “On Wednesday, January 17, after 1:20 pm, there will be Jalayatra, Teertha Puja, Brahmin-Batuk-Kumari-Suvasini Puja, Vardhini Puja, Kalshayatra and a perambulation of the idol of Lord Shri Ram Lala in the Prasad premises.”
As per the statement made by Champat Rai, the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple would be accessible for public ‘darshan’ from January 23.
