Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, which was scheduled to take place on March 18, has been denied permission, according to sources on Friday. Permission was denied by the district police authority for a number of reasons, including potential security threats.
In advance of the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi conducted a roadshow around South India. Permission for a 3.6-kilometer tour in the industrial-textile metropolis was requested by the BJP.
Some of the justifications given for refusing the license included security concerns, Coimbatore’s communal past, and inconvenience of the general public, particularly students, according to sources.
The ultimate destination of the Prime Minister’s roadshow was RS Puram, a site where the 1998 series blast had occurred.
Furthermore, because Coimbatore is a sensitive community, no political parties or groups are permitted to have roadshows.
The administrators also mentioned that there are several schools situated along the suggested path for the roadshow, where student will be giving exams on March 18 and 19.
