Pakistani security forces kill 4 terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province

In the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistani security forces killed four wanted terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during an intelligence-based operation on Wednesday, the military reported.

The operation was conducted on Tuesday in the tribal district of North Waziristan that borders Afghanistan, as reported by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

It said that the security forces had killed four terrorists, including a suicide bomber, following a fierce gunfight. Terrorists who died planned a major terror attack in the district and were wanted by the authorities for many terror attacks. According to the ISPR, a significant amount of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

According to data released by think tanks based in Islamabad, Pakistan has seen an unparalleled surge in violence related to terrorism in the past year, with the total number of fatalities due to violence reaching a record six-year high, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
