Men Pulled Girl’s Dupatta, Harassed Her, Accused Shot In Leg During Encounter

Two of the accused tried absconding while receiving medical attention, said Ambedkarnagar Superintendent of Police (SP).

Three men were shot in the leg during a police encounter after they were detained on Saturday after harassing a schoolgirl and running her over with a motorbike in Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Two of the accused, Shahbaz and Faisal, attempted to flee while receiving medical attention, according to Ambedkarnagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajit Sinha. They were then shot in the leg during a police encounter. The leg of the third defendant, a minor, who sustained a fracture while running, was broken.

For the negligence in duty, Hanswar Station House Officer (SHO) was suspended.

On Friday, while going to her home on a bicycle a schoolgirl was harassed by a few assaulters. As the miscreants pulled her dupatta she fell off her bicycle when a bike ran over her. The incident was captured on CCTV camera.

The victim was taken to the hospital but declared brought dead. A case was registered by the girl’s father leading in arrest of  3 people.
