West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee slammed BJP led Central Government for the Odisha train mishap saying that ‘Dal mein kuch kaala hai’ and demanded for a probe.

Mamta Banerjee said, “When yesterday he (Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw) was present with me and I mentioned about anti-collision device, why didn’t he open his mouth? ‘Dal mein kuch kaala hai’, we want the truth to come out.”
Coromandel Express didn’t have ‘Kavach’
Further adding West Bengal Chief Minister said, “Yesterday both Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were standing with me but I didn’t say anything. I could have said a lot because I myself have been Railway Minister. Why Coromandel Express and Bengaluru-Howrah Express didn’t have anti-collision devices? The Railways have been left to be sold.”
Why death toll changed: Mamta Banerjee
While attacking the BJP led Government for the changing death toll she said, “How come the information given by the Ministry differs so much? The figures have been changing from morning to evening. “Daal mein kuch kaala hai”. Now tell me how many Central teams visited there and how many human rights commissions will be sent there?”
Death toll should not be hidden
She even demanded justice for people by stating that patients and families of deceased should not be harassed and the real death toll should not be hidden. The Truth should come out.
Issue with the signalling
According to the reports when asked about the reason behind the accident, Member of Operation and Business Development, Railway Board Jaya Varma Sinha said, “According to the preliminary findings, there has been some issue with the signalling. We are still waiting for the detailed report from the Commissioner of Railway Safety. Only Coromandel Express met with an accident. The train was at a speed of around 128 km/h”.
