Maharashtra Cabinet Reshuffle: Ajit Pawar Gets Finance, BJP Leaders Lose These Portfolios

As Eknath Shinde rearranged the portfolios in his Cabinet, 9 rebel leaders including Ajit Pawar have now been given different departments in Maharashtra Government.

On Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the expansion of his Cabinet, over two weeks after nine NCP leaders, including Ajit Pawar, were sworn in as ministers. In the state cabinet expansion, NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal received the Food and Civil Supply portfolio, while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar received the Finance portfolio.

At a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan on July 2, Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP leaders—Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde and Dharmarao Atram, Aditi Tatkare, Sanjay Bansode, and Anil Patil—took oaths as ministers. As Eknath Shinde rearranged the portfolios in his Cabinet, they have now been assigned to their appropriate departments.

Finance and Planning – Ajit Pawar

Agriculture – Dhananjay Munde

Co-operative – Dilip walse-Patil

Medical Education and Special Assistance – Hasan Mushrif

Food and Civil Supply – Chhagan Bhujbal

Women and Child Development – Aditi Tatkare

Food and Drug Administration – Dharmarao Atram

Relief and Rehabilitation – Anil Patil

Sports and Youth welfare, Ports – Sanjay Bansode

Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra’s current cabinet expansion. The following departments were lost by BJP-

Devendra Fadnavis: Finance and Planning

Girish Mahajan: Medical Education, Sports, and Youth Welfare

Atul Save: Cooperation

Mangal Prabhat Lodha: Women and Child Welfare

Ravindra Chavan: Food and Civil Supplies
