After a “Rs 3-lakh ransom call” to his widowed poor mother supposedly went unanswered, three juveniles gave a 14-year-old “rosogolla and cold drinks to fulfill his dying wish” in a Bengal village.
The horrifying details concerning the Class VIII student’s death on August 25 at the hands of his three kidnappers, who wanted the ransom to “buy a computer to play games,” were revealed in a police report to a Juvenile Justice Board on Sunday in Nadia’s Krishnanagar.
The father of the deceased passed away a few years ago. He resided with his mother, a domestic helper, in Krishnanagar’s Ghurni at his maternal uncle’s residence.
According to the police, the student vanished on Friday afternoon. His mother Soma said: “He had gone to a shop but did not return at night. I lodged a complaint at Kotwali police station early Saturday.”
After confessing to the murder, the three juveniles were apprehended on Saturday. They told the police that they had taken the child to the outskirts of Krishnanagar town, strangled him, then placed his body in a sack and dumped it into a pond. Victim’s body has been recovered by the police, cops believe the kidnappers had an acquaintance with the 14-year-old.
