Jharkhand: Rats Ate 10 Kg Of Hemp And 9 Kg Of Marijuana From Storehouse Of Police Station

Rats consumed marijuana and hemp from the storehouse of a police station in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. A case has also been registered in the police station. Rats ate 10 kg of hemp and 9 kg of marujuana seized in Rajganj police station and no police personnel had any clue about it. The matter was disclosed by researcher Jaiprakash Prasad on Saturday in the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Ram Sharma. This case was going on in the court for the testimony of the researcher. Earlier, the court had directed the researcher to bring the seized items to the court.

Jaiprakash Prasad appeared before the court was but did not bring the seize hemp and marijuana with him to the court. Public Prosecutor Awadhesh Kumar, while informing the court about the application given by the police station in-charge, said that the materials of this case, which were 10 kg of hemp and 9 kg of marijuana kept in the storehouse, were destroyed by rats. Due to which he is unable to present them in the court. In this regard FIR has also been registered in Rajganj police station.

Regarding the incident, it is said that on December 14, 2018, while registering an FIR in Rajganj police station, it was alleged that Rajganj police had conducted a raid on the basis of secret information and recovered hemp and marijuana. Police had arrested Shambhu Prasad Aggarwal and his son and this case is going on in the court. However, the advocate said that the accused can get benefit from it whereas the court runs on the basis of evidence.
