Jackie Shroff Files Petition In Court Over His Trade Mark Rights, Actor Says Can’t Use Word ‘Bhidu’ Without Consent

Jackie Shroff said in his petition that a case has been filed against various organizations using his name, photo, voice and the word ‘Bhidu’ without his consent.

Jackie Shroff High Court: Delhi High Court has issued summons on the petition filed by Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. The High Court will hear the petition seeking interim relief on May 15. Jackie Shroff has filed this petition to protect his identity and publicity rights.

Jackie Shroff said in his petition that a case has been filed against various organizations using his name, photo, voice and the word ‘Bhidu’ without his consent. The actor says that his names like Jackie, ‘Bhidu’ and voice are being used commercially without his permission, which is wrong and should be stopped.

Jackie Shroff has filed an application in the court demanding protection of his personality and publicity rights. The actor has sought to stop the misuse of his name (Jackie Shroff, Jackie and the catchphrase Bhidu etc), photographs and voice as well as other aspects of his personality.

Amitabh Bachchan has also filed a petition

Earlier in the year 2022, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and then in the year 2023 Anil Kapoor had also filed a similar petition in the High Court. Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor had said in their petition that commercial use of their name or voice in any way should be banned without their consent.

Not only this, last year Anil Kapoor had also approached the Delhi High Court to protect his rights. Apart from this, Anil Kapoor won the case in January this year. In this, he demanded to protect the catchphrase containing the word Jhakas, his name, voice, manner of speaking, image, likeness and gestures, saying that it should not be used.
