Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Urges People To Stay Inside For Next 24 Hours Amid Rain Havoc, 14 Died

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today asked residents of the state to stay inside the house for 24 hours and cooperate with authorities as terrifying videos of flooding and landslides due to heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh surface. For the state that saw record-breaking rain on Sunday led to 14 deaths, further showers are expected.

“I urge people to unitedly face the difficulty and stay in their homes for the next 24 hours as there is a possibility of heavy rain,” the chief minister said in a video message. He also announced three helpline numbers 1100, 1070 and 1077 for people who are in need of assistance. You can call these numbers in case of any emergency and I will also be available 24 hours,” Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said.

He further mentioned, “Please help people during this calamity and ensure that they are compensated for their losses.”

Landslides and flash floods that were brought on by constant, heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh severely damaged homes and other buildings and disrupted daily life. Consequenlty red alert was issued in 13 districts.
