Case Lodged Against BJP Leader CT Ravi For Objectionable Post On Rahul Gandhi

The Election Commission said that taking cognizance of this statement, action has been initiated against Ravi as per the guidelines laid down in the Model Code of Conduct.

An FIR has been registered against former BJP national general secretary CT Ravi for allegedly promoting enmity on the basis of religion in connection with an objectionable post regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Chikkamagalur District Election Officer booked him under section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc.) at Chikkamagalur Town Police Station. What did CT Ravi post?

On Wednesday CT Ravi had posted on the social media X and said, “Dear Hindus, Congress co-owner Rahul Gandhi has declared war against us Hindus. Now the time has come for us to unite and oppose and protect Sanatan Dharma from those who want to destroy it.”

Ravi commented even after the case was registered

After the FIR was registered against him, BJP leader CT Ravi said,”Dear Election Commission, I got the information about the FIR filed against me by the Congress. As a Sanatani, I responded to the irresponsible and insensitive comments made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. I would be very happy if you could share the details of the FIR lodged against Rahul Gandhi for his statements hurting the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma.”
