Atishi, Delhi government Minister took over the Water Department from Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in a minor shuffle. Instead of Atishi, Bharadwaj will now oversee the department of tourism, art, and culture.
Out of all the ministers in Delhi, Atishi has the most number of portfolios—13. She is the only female minister in the Delhi Cabinet.
Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resigned from their positions in the Arvind Kejriwal-led Cabinet after being arrested in relation to the Delhi liquor policy scandal, and Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj were subsequently appointed to those positions.
The BJP claimed that Sisodia “pressured” Kejriwal into giving “lucrative portfolios to his protege” when Atishi was given the Finance, Revenue, and PWD portfolios.
