Andhra Pradesh: Police Kills Wife-2 Daughters, Then Himself Commits Suicide

An official reported on Thursday that a 55-year-old Andhra Pradesh police head constable is suspected of murdering his wife, two daughters, before taking his own life.

“His name is Venkateswarlu and he was working as a writer in Kadapa two-town police station. He worked till 11 pm last night (Wednesday) and took a pistol and some rounds from the police station and went to his house,” Kadapa sub-divisional police officer Md. Sharif told PTI.

He added that the constable’s wife was about 45 years old and that Venkateswarlu’s oldest daughter, who was about 20 years old, was in her first year of graduate school while the younger one was in the 10th grade.

The head constable was reportedly dealing with some family issues and was also thought to have lost money in stock market trading, according to sources.

Case investigation has started, Kadapa Superintendent of Police Siddarth Kaushal visited Venkateswarlu’s home and the police is in the process of filing a case.
