The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 5.4 earthquake in eastern Kashmir at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, the quake struck at a depth of 6 km, 18 kilometres from Gandoh Bhalessa village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district.
National Center for Seismology tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:5.4, Occurred on 13-06-2023, 13:33:42 IST, Lat: 33.15 & Long: 75.82, Depth: 6 Km, Location: Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, India”, through its official Twitter handle.

Jammu and Kashmir saw strong tremors. The tremors were felt in other parts of northern India, including the national capital of Delhi and its surrounding territories.
