Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief of the Samajwadi Party, assured Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of his party’s support against the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in the national capital on Wednesday. Akhilesh Yadav remarks came after Kejriwal met him as the AAP sought support against Centre’s ordinance. Yadav stated during a press conference that his party will support the AAP founder Kejriwal on this matter.
Aam Aadmi Party contacting non-BJP parties leaders
In an effort to block the Center’s plan to replace the ordinance through a Bill when it is introduced in Parliament, Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, has been contacting leaders of non-BJP parties.
Centre’s ordinance promulgated on May 19
The AAP administration referred to the Centre’s ordinance, which was promulgated on May 19 and created an authority to supervise the transfer and posting of Group-A officers in Delhi, which the AAP government has called Deception with Supreme Court’s decision regarding control of services.
SC passed verdict on May 11
The ordinance was passed a week after the Supreme Court gave handed over the control of Delhi’s elected government over all services except for police, public safety, and land. For the transfer, it aims to establish the National Capital Civil Service Authority. Prior to the Apex Court’s verdict which was given on May 11, the executive control of transfer and postings was with the lieutenant governor of Delhi.
