Ajit Pawar, who is currently the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, will open a new party office close to the state secretariat as he competes with his uncle Sharad Pawar for the party’s leadership. However, when Ajit Pawar supporters arrived at the new “Rashtrawadi Bhavan” this morning, they discovered that the doors were locked and the keys were missing.
Party leaders could be seen seated on chairs outside the closed doors as phone calls were being made to find the keys as soon as possible. Youth leaders attempted to break the lock in order to enter the bungalow and prepare it for inaugration by Ajit Pawar. But when entered inside they found that all the rooms were also locked.

The bungalow picked by Ajit Pawar for the party office was formerly owned by Ambadas Danve, the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and a supporter of Uddhav Thackeray. Another bungalow has now been assigned to Mr. Danve.
The personal assistant of Mr. Danve slept at the bungalow, according to NCP leader Appa Sawant. He said, “We have made all arrangements inside, but the PA locked up and left. We have called him. He said he is on his way to Mantralaya and will hand over the keys to us.”
Ajit Pawar faction and NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar Faction will be conducting a meeting separately on Wednesday to discuss the future strategy. Congress and the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), who are both partners of the NCP, will also meeting today to address the shocking occurrences over the previous couple of days.
Sharad Pawar has sacked senior leaders like Praful Patel for participating in oath taking ceremony on Sunday where Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde-government. The group headed by Ajit Pawar senior has petitioned Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar to oust rebel Ajit Pawar and his eight supporters from office.
In a letter to the Election Commission, the party emphasised that its founder, Sharad Pawar, still serves as its leader.
