55-Year-Old Woman And Her Son Die Due To Financial Issues, Consume Poisonous Substance

The event was discovered after deceased’s daughter contacted her this morning to check on them and told the neighbors when the phone was unanswered.

A 55-year-old woman and her son died after after consuming poisonous substance due to financial issues.

At their home in Nai Basti Sai Colony on Friday night, Deepak Kumar, also known as Deepu Soni (age 28), and his mother Suman Devi (age 55), consumed poisonous substance that they mixed with a soft drink, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Abhay Nath Tripathi.

According to authorities, the event was discovered after Suman Devi’s daughter contacted her this morning to check on them and told the neighbors when the phone was unanswered.

The neighbors alerted the police after they did not receive a response. According to reports, station in-charge Bhimsen Pauniya arrived at the scene, broke down the door, and discovered the deceased in a room.

They also reported finding an empty sulfas bottle and a bottle of soft drink laying nearby.

The family members claimed that Suman Devi and Deepak had financial issues.

According to neighbors, Suman Devi’s spouse passed away in January. Deepak sold clothing on the sidewalk to help the family after his death. The ASP also stated that his father had borrowed money to build the home.
