3 Accused In Ankit Sharma Murder Case Get Bail, Court Says- Riot Done To Target Hindus

Karkardooma Court had framed charges against 11 people including former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain in the death case of IB constable Ankit Sharma during Delhi riots.

Delhi High Court has granted bail to three accused (Shoaib Alam, Gulfam and Javed) in the case of murder of IB employee Ankit Sharma during 2020 Delhi riots. However, Justice Naveen Chawla refused to grant bail to another accused Nazim.

Tahir Hussain is mastermind of riots

Karkardooma Court had framed charges against 11 people including former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain in the death case of IB constable Ankit Sharma during Delhi riots. The court considered that Tahir Hussain played an important in this murder. While framing the charges, the court had said that Tahir Hussain was continuously involved in monitoring and instigating the crowd and all this was done to target Hindus.

There was a conspiracy to target Hindus

The court said that every member of the mob was involved in targeting Hindus. Justice Naveen Chawla had further said, “The mob was fully prepared to attack people and their property.” The court had framed charges under sections 147, 148, 153 A, 302 and 120B of IPC against Haseen, Nazim, Qasim, Sameer Khan, Anas, Firoz, Javed, Gulfam, Shoaib Alam and Muntajim involved in this case. Along with this, additional charges have also been imposed on Tahir Hussain under sections 505, 109 and 114 of IPC.

It is noteworthy that a case was registered on the complaint of Ankit’s father Ravindra Kumar. According to him, Ankit Sharma went missing on 25 February 2020. That day, after returning home from office, he had gone out to buy some household items and when he did not return home even after a long time, a complaint was lodged with the police. The next day, Ravindra came to know from some boys that the body of a person had been murdered and thrown in the Khajuri Khas drain near Chand Bagh Pulia Masjid. After investigation, Ankit’s body was recovered from the drain.
