In keeping with the tragic trend of student suicides in Kota, India, the “coaching hub,” another National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) candidate has allegedly taken his own life.
Uruz Khan, a twenty-year-old man preparing for the NEET, was found hanging from his rental room’s ceiling fan.
In these 3 months of 2024 this is the 7th case of suicide in the city. Notably, the total suicide cases for the previous year was 29.
The deceased Uruz Khan, an Uttar Pradesh native from Kannauj, hung himself on Monday night while residing in a leased apartment in the Vigyan Nagar neighborhood.
Uruz was found hanging from the ceiling fan by the building’s guard, who informed police about the grave incident.
When the police arrived, they took the body into custody and sent it to the nearby MBS Hospital’s mortuary.
Uruz Khan had lived in Kota for a considerable amount of time, but he had only moved into the room 20 days ago, according to the police.
According to sources, why the NEET student took such a drastic step is still unknown.
The family of the deceased student has been notified by the police and after their arrival the autopsy will be conducted, the police continued.
