On Tuesday, amid the presence of SDM and police officials, house of a man accused of raping and killing a teenager was bulldozed in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh,.
The house of the accused was demolished after the girl’s relatives, people from girl’s village, and members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) demanded it after the girl passed away while receiving medical treatment at hospital.

On June 22, the deceased with her family attended a wedding in a Fatehpur village. The girl’s father claimed that she vanished from the wedding hall at around 11 p.m.
Hours were spent looking for her by her family members before her father went to the police to report her missing. On June 23 the girl was discovered bleeding, near the wedding location under a construction house.
According to sources the 17 year old girl was admitted to hospital for three days where she succumbed to her injuries. As per the police, one of the four individuals who were involved in crime had been taken into custody.
VHP members however say that it is a case of love jihad, the accused was a muslim, portrayed himself as a hindu and trapped the girl to meet her and then raped her. Further police investigation is going on.
