Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s Son Vaibhav Gehlot appears before ED

This ED action was described as politically motivated by Congress and senior Gehlot.

Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi on Monday to be questioned regarding a case involving a foreign exchange violation.

Vaibhav Gehlot was summoned by the federal agency to appear before the case’s investigating officer at its headquarters on A P J Abdul Kalam Road in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

The summons is related to recent ED raids against Vardha Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., directors and promoters Shiv Shankar Sharma, Rattan Kant Sharma, and other members of the hospitality group Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd., based in Rajasthan.

During three days in August, the agency searched the group and its promoters in Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi.

The ED is investigating Rattan Kant Sharma’s purported connections to Vaibhav Gehlot, and they plan to interview him and record his statement under the FEMA regulations. In the past, he and Vaibhav Gehlot were business partners in a car rental company.

This ED action was described as politically motivated by Congress and senior Gehlot.
