On Saturday, a Chennai pharmacy employee discovered that his bank account had been credited with a whopping amount of Rs 753 crore.
On Friday, October 6, Muhammad Idris transferred Rs 2,000 from his Kotak Mahindra bank account to a friend. He made the decision to check his account balance following this transaction.
After making the transaction he received a message showing him his bank balance, which was a staggering Rs 753 crore.
Idris informed the bank of this unusual incident because he was worried about it, and they subsequently froze his account.
In Tamil Nadu, there have been three incidents of this kind. A Chennai taxi driver named Rajkumar discovered that his Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank account had a balance of Rs 9,000 crore in a previous incident.
The excess funds were withdrawn after the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank fixed the problem as a result of the complaint.
Another incident involved a man from Thanjavur named Ganesan was shocked to discover Rs 756 crore in his bank account.
