Gorakhpur: Mafia Vinod Upadhyay’s House Demolished, History-Sheeter Booked Under 32 Cases

Currently Vinod is on run and has a bounty of Rs 50,000 on him.

Uttar Pradesh: The Mafia Vinod Upadhyay’s mansion in Uttar Pradesh is being demolished on Saturday by the Gorakhpur district authorities. The bounty on Vinod Upadhyay is Rs 50,000. In the gangster case, a non-bailable warrant has also been issued against him, and he and his brother Sanjay Upadhyay are also wanted by the police. Vinod is facing 32 cases. Amid the demolition drive, the police is trying to nab him.

What did the Police say?

City Superintendent of Police Krishan Bishnoi mentioned that he has 32 cases against him, including four murder cases. “He is on the run for the past few days. He has encroached on the government land here and attempted encroachment on the adjacent plot of land too. He also built his house, worth crores of rupees, here. The property was identified by GDA (Gorakhpur Development Authority) and is being demolished after that. Search for him is underway. The reward announced for his arrest will be increased,” he told news agency ANI.

Mafia booked under these cases

On May 23, a second extortion and threat case was filed at the Gulriha police station against Vinod Upadhyay as a result of a complaint from Daudpur resident Praveen Kumar Srivastava.
Vinod Upadhyay is one of Uttar Pradesh’s top 61 mafia. He was booked under Gangster Act, the Arms Act, and the Attempt to Murder Act in 2014. As soon as he was granted bail, he absconded.
