Parineeti and Akshay kumar's 'The Great Indian Rescue'

Parineeti Chopra and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ gets a release date. Fans are really excited to see the Kesari film duo together again on the big screen. Film Critic Taran Adarsh also announced this on his official Twitter handle. ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ will be released on October 5 2023 in theatres near you.

He also shared a picture of Akshay Kumar in the character’s look.

The Great Indian Rescue, previously known as “Capsule Gill,” is based on the true story of the Raniganj Coalfields in West Bengal, where 64 workers were trapped.

During the 1989 coal mine collapse, Jaswant Singh the role played by  Akshay Kumar sacrificed his own life to rescue others.

This was India’s first-ever coal mine rescue. November 16 is recognized as ‘Rescue Day’.

Who was Jaswant Singh?

Mr Gill was born on November 22, 1939, in Amritsar Punjab. He was an alumnus of Khalsa College, and he was also awarded ‘Sarvottam Jeevan Rakhsha Padak’ by President Ramaswamy Venkataraman in 1991.

India’s first coal mine, the Raniganj coal mine was established in 1774.

After John Sumner and Suetonius Grant Heatly of the British East India Company acquired a license for mining activities. In 1974, the mine was made public, and the Coal Mines Authority of India later acquired it.
