The Yogi government is set to enhance Prayagraj’s historic sites with stunning façade lighting ahead of Mahakumbh 2025. With a budget of Rs 19 crore, the government aims to boost night tourism by lighting prominent temples, Shastri Bridge, and the fort.
Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh announced that five key temples—Maa Alop Shankari Devi, Shri Shankar Viman Mandapam, Shri Hanuman Niketan, Shringi Rishi in Shringverpur Dham, and Nagvasuki—will receive this special lighting. Shastri Bridge and the fort along the Yamuna will also feature this artistic illumination, offering visitors a spectacular night view.
Façade Lighting Adds to Night Tourism
Unlike standard lighting, façade lighting highlights architectural beauty with techniques like spotlights, floodlights, and downlights. This artistic lighting will transform the temples and landmarks into captivating attractions after sunset.
The illuminated sites will create a unique experience for the millions of visitors expected for Mahakumbh. The lighting adds a new dimension to their spiritual journey through Prayagraj.
Preparations for Mahakumbh Underway
The Yogi government’s mission to beautify Prayagraj includes extensive decorations across roads, squares, walls, and bridges. Known as the “City of Temples,” Prayagraj will welcome devotees with a renewed look, making Mahakumbh 2025 unforgettable.
