In a bold move to address key national concerns, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled a comprehensive set of priorities for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration on Tuesday.
The government’s focus spans across nine critical areas, including employment, agricultural advancements, and industrial growth, laying a strategic framework for the coming fiscal year.
The nine focal points outlined are agriculture, employment, inclusive development, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy, infrastructure, innovation and research and development, and next-generation reforms.
These areas aim to drive substantial growth and transform various sectors of the economy.
The government has earmarked a significant Rs 2.66 lakh crore for rural development, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing livelihoods and infrastructure in rural areas.
This funding is likely to play a pivotal role in advancing agricultural productivity and bolstering climate resilience.
Union Budget Focuses on Employment, Skills Development, and MSME Support, Says Minister Sitharaman
Minister Sitharaman, during her presentation of the seventh Union Budget, emphasized that the budget aims to invigorate employment, skills development, and support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), alongside addressing the needs of the middle class.
She further highlighted a transformative approach in agriculture research, aiming to elevate productivity and develop climate-resilient crop varieties.
In a notable enhancement to employment initiatives, the Finance Minister announced three new schemes designed to foster job creation and economic stability.
Additionally, the extension of the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for another five years will continue to provide critical support to over 80 crore citizens, ensuring food security and aiding those in need.
While addressing the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman remarked on the electorate’s strong endorsement of PM Modi’s leadership, reflecting the public’s confidence in the government’s vision and policies.
She affirmed, “People of India have reposed their faith in the government led by PM Modi and re-elected it for a historic third term,” signaling a renewed mandate to pursue the outlined priorities with vigor and determination.
