West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the second T20I at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium in Ranchi on Friday.

The visitors made one change to their playing XI, while India named an unchanged side.

“We’ll bowl first this time. We have to assess the conditions; there is some moisture at the moment, and it could get worse by the evening. We haven’t had much time, but we are trying to learn from our mistakes. We just need to come back stronger. We have made one change to our team,” Hope stated.

India captain Shreyas Iyer said, “We also wanted to bowl first, so we will have to adapt to the conditions quickly. We have spoken about maintaining our standards for all 40 overs. We want to challenge ourselves to improve. We are playing with the same team.”

India entered the contest with a 1-0 advantage after winning the opening match convincingly. The West Indies managed 171 runs before losing all their wickets in 19.1 overs.

Naman Dhir claimed three wickets for 31 runs, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each.

India then chased down the 172-run target in 14.4 overs, losing just two wickets.

Iyer led the charge with an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls, while Ishan Kishan scored 37 from 27 deliveries. Sanju Samson could not make a substantial contribution.
