In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 10.82 percent of voter turnout is recorded till 9 am. As per ANI, the highest turnout was recorded in West Bengal while Odisha stood at the lowest.
According to the data, Bihar stood at 9.66%, Haryana recorded 8.31 percent, Jharkhand at 11.74 percent, Delhi recorded 8.94%, Jammu & Kashmir stood at 8.89% and UP recorded the second highest voter turnout with 12.33 percent. The Lok Sabha and assembly elections are being held simultaneously in Odisha. Delhi will see voting in a single phase on all seven Lok Sabha seats today.
The polling began at 7am in the morning and will be ongoing till 6pm in evening. A total of 11.13 crore voters will be deciding the fate of 889 candidates in 58 constituencies from six states and two union territories. CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Mehbooba Mufti are contesting elections from Karnal and Anantnag-Rajouri respectively.
Some prominent candidates include Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi. Bansuri Swaraj, Somnath Bharti, Manoj Tiwari, Kanhaiya Kumar, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias ‘Nirahua’, Dharmendra Yadav, Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Agnimitra Paul, Naveen Jindal, Raj Babbar, Deepender Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and Aparajita Sarangi are among other prominent candidates in the fray. Votes will be counted on June 4.
