However, according to TeamLease EdTeach’s Career Outlook Report HY1 (January-June 2024), the total desire to hire freshers increased by 6% year over year.

A survey states that during the first half of this year (January-June), there was a 3% decrease in the intention to hire freshers in the media and entertainment sector.

However, according to TeamLease EdTeach’s Career Outlook Report HY1 (January-June 2024), the total desire to hire freshers increased by 6% year over year.

The intention to hire fresh talent in the media and entertainment sector is predicted to fall by about 3%, defying the general upward trend observed in many other industries, according to the survey.

Included in the TeamLease EdTeach ‘Career Outlook Report HY1’, this report is based on a survey that was conducted across 18 industries in India, encompassing 526 small, medium, and big firms.

The survey also showed that different cities have different preferences for work roles in the media and entertainment industries, with Bengaluru leading in production assistants with 23% and Delhi dominating in video editing at 27%.

It also stated that Mumbai and Delhi were the most popular destinations for Unity developers, with 25 and 21 percent of the total, Chennai was the most popular destination for SEO executives, and Mumbai was still the most popular destination for graphic artists, with 19 percent.

“The media and entertainment sector seems to be consolidating its fresher hiring efforts, even as other industries capitalise on the positive economic sentiment,” TeamLease EdTech Founder and CEO Shantanu Rooj said.

He went on to say that this might be explained by things like shifting customer behavior, technology upheavals, and changing business strategies.
