'Sudarshan Setu' in Dwarka
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s longest cable bridge in Dwarka, Gujarat. Named ‘Sudarshan Setu,’ the bridge connects Okha and Bayt Dwarka islands and has been constructed at Rs 979 crore. Back in October 2017, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for this 2.3 km long bridge, emphasizing its significance as a link between the old and new Dwarka. With its completion, the bridge is now open to the public, offering a breathtaking aerial view reminiscent of scenes from a Hollywood movie.

As per a government release, the newly inaugurated four-lane bridge spanning 27.20 meters in width boasts remarkable features. Named Sudarshan Setu, the bridge, previously referred to as the ‘Signature Bridge,’ now stands adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and imagery of Lord Krishna embellishing its footpaths on both sides.

This 2.3-kilometer-long marvel not only enhances accessibility to Bayt-Dwarka but also serves as a conduit for devotion to Krishna, thanks to its thoughtful design. Notably, the bridge’s pylons are intricately crafted in the likeness of Krishna’s idol, with peacock feathers adorning them to captivate devotees around the clock.
Moreover, the essence of the Gita and the seven names of Lord Vishnu grace the pathway, adding spiritual depth to the journey across Sudarshan Setu.
Approximately 30 kilometers away from Dwarka city
Bayt Dwarka, situated approximately 30 kilometers from Dwarka city, is an island near Okha port renowned for the revered Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna. Prior to addressing a large gathering nearby, PM Modi paid homage at the Dwarkadhish temple. Following this, PM Modi is scheduled to hold a mega roadshow in the city later this evening.
