Ambuja Cements reported Rs 9,197 crore in Q2 FY27 revenue as higher fuel costs pressured profits despite stronger trade and premium sales.

Ambuja Cements Q1 FY27: Net Profit At Rs 660 Crore, Capacity Expansion On Track

Ambuja Cements Limited reported consolidated revenue of Rs 9,197 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up marginally from Rs 9,175 crore a year earlier.

However, operating EBITDA declined 28 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,271 crore, as higher fuel and logistics costs weighed on profitability.

The company recorded cement sales of 16.5 million tonnes during the quarter, compared with 16.6 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. Its EBITDA margin stood at 13.8 per cent, while EBITDA per tonne reached Rs 770.

Ambuja strengthened its trade and premium product mix despite seasonal and external challenges.

Trade volumes grew 8.6 per cent year-on-year, while the trade share increased by six percentage points to 74 per cent. Premium products accounted for 37 per cent of trade sales, up two percentage points from the previous quarter.

Vinod Bahety, Whole-time Director and CEO of Ambuja Cements, said the company remained focused on quality growth, operational efficiency and disciplined cost management.

Ambuja commissioned 4.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of capacity during Q2 FY27 at Dahej, Salai Banwa and Kalamboli. It expects another 5.6 MTPA to ramp up during the second half of the financial year.

The company is targeting a total cost of Rs 4,250 per tonne by FY27. It is pursuing renewable energy, logistics optimisation and digitalisation to improve operational performance.

Shareholders have approved the proposed amalgamation of ACC and Orient Cement with Ambuja Cements. The merger remains subject to regulatory and other approvals, with completion expected in FY27.

The company expects infrastructure spending, urbanisation and housing demand to support the cement sector despite global uncertainty and elevated energy costs.
