Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three Banas Dairy projects worth a combined ₹407.56 crore in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Friday and lay the foundation stones for two Bio-CNG plants as part of his two-day visit to the state on October 30 and 31.

The projects include the ₹324.77-crore Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre (BBBRC) at Bhildi, a ₹51.65-crore French fries plant at Sanadar and a ₹31.14-crore automated storage facility at Palanpur. PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the latter two.

Spread across 127 acres, the BBBRC will advance animal breeding through research and genetics.

The Centre has sanctioned ₹38.83 crore under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, including ₹2 crore for donor animals.

NDDB provides technical support, while NABARD offers financial assistance.

The Palanpur facility uses nine-level steel racks to store and dispatch ultra-high-temperature dairy products.

With a capacity of 11,000 pallets, the automated system aims to improve warehousing efficiency, traceability and dispatch speed.

Banas Dairy developed the system in-house, helping reduce costs and benefit its 4.18 lakh milk producers.

The French fries plant at Sanadar, Deodar, will increase capacity from two to five tonnes per hour.

Banas Dairy has integrated plantlet development, seed cultivation, cold storage and processing.

PM Modi will lay foundation stones for Bio-CNG plants at Tharad and Radhanpur, designed to process 75 and 100 tonnes of cattle dung daily.

Banas Dairy already operates four Bio-CNG plants. The new facilities will boost clean energy and fertiliser production while increasing farmers’ income.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, Banas Dairy chairman Shankar Chaudhary, officials and dairy representatives will attend.

The projects aim to expand food processing, renewable energy and rural livelihoods.
