Daggubati Purandeswari, the president of BJP Andhra Pradesh, urged that the state government sets aside January 22 as a holiday in honour of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Thursday. She attacked the Andhra government, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, saying that by not announcing a holiday on January 22, it has not participated in the country’s celebrations.
According to Purandeswari, the building of the Ram Mandir was the culmination of a protracted struggle and a desire that dates back millennia. She continued by saying that although the government of Andhra Pradesh has not announced a holiday on the day of the consecration event several other states have done so.
What did BJP leader say?
The leader of Andhra Pradesh BJP further mentioned that private schools had already declared January 22 as a holiday. Purandeswari said, “Jagan’s government giving holidays only till January 21 means they have an ulterior intention. Even though a holiday was to be declared on the 22nd, the holiday was deliberately not given on that day.”
Over 7k people to attend event
More than 7,000 individuals, including politicians, celebrities, businessmen, and saints, are expected to attend the event, according to the Ram Temple Trust.
