Joe Biden may not arrive India on January 26 as Republic Day Chief Guest: Sources

According to people familiar with the situation, US President Joe Biden is not anticipated to travel to India as Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations next month.

President Biden was invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 of the following year, according to a September statement from US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti.

Nevertheless, there was no response to India’s invitation.

According to sources, the Quad summit is scheduled to take place in India towards the end of 2024.

A source told PTI, “We are looking for revised dates as the dates currently under consideration do not work with all the Quad partners.”
