“Nation supports you today and forever”: PM Modi to team India over World Cup 2023 loss

In Ahmedabad on Sunday, Australia won their sixth ODI World Cup, defeating hosts India by six wickets.

Following Team India’s inability to steer their luck to victory against Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the nation supports the team “today and forever.” He claimed that during the competition, the ICC Men’s Cricket team greatly elevated national pride.

In Ahmedabad on Sunday, Australia won their sixth ODI World Cup, defeating hosts India by six wickets.

“Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup was noteworthy. You’ve played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always,” PM Modi said on X, formerly Twitter.

The prime minister praised Australia’s victory in the World Cup and congratulated Travis Head p for his aggressive 137 in the championship game.

“Congratulations to Australia on a magnificent World Cup victory! Theirs was a commendable performance through the tournament, culminating in a splendid triumph. Compliments to Travis Head for his remarkable game today,” PM Modi tweeted.

The Men in Blue were defeated by 6-wickets at the hands of Australia in the World Cup final match in Ahmedabad.
