Sanjay Singh, the jailed leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), asserted on Friday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was the target of a “huge conspiracy to trap.” After appearing before the reporters in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court regarding the alleged excise policy case, Sanjay Singh made the comment.
The Aam Aadmi Party posted the video on X.
“There is a big conspiracy to trap Kejriwal ji. Not just arrest, something big is going to be done to Kejriwal by these people,” Sanjay Singh can be heard saying as police officials escort him away.
Following an hours-long raid at his home in relation to the alleged liquor scam, Sanjay Singh was taken into custody by the investigative agency ED last month.
Days after Arvind Kejriwal was called in by the Enforcement Directorate to be questioned regarding the money laundering investigation related to the excise policy scam, Sanjay Singh issued a “conspiracy” warning. The head of the AAP had declined the call, claiming it was “politically motivated”.
Arvind Kejriwal had stated that the ED had sent him the notice for irrelevant reasons at the BJP’s request, terms that he found “vague, motivated, and unsustainable in law”.
Notably, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, two of Arvind Kejriwal’s party colleagues, are being held in judicial custody in relation to the case.
