On the occasion of Diwali, leaders and diplomatic missions from around the world have joined in extending their warmest greetings to the people of India and the global Indian community.
The Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, led the international messages with a post celebrating the festival’s universal values.
Taking to X, Sheikh Mohammed posted, “Warmest wishes and greetings to those celebrating Diwali in the UAE and around the world. May this festival of lights bring peace, safety, and prosperity to you and your loved ones. Happy Diwali!”
The Singapore High Commission in India joined the celebration by posting festive pictures of its officials creating traditional rangoli with flowers and lighting lamps at the mission.
Moreover, the visual tribute reflected the shared cultural bonds between the two nations.
In its Diwali message on X, the High Commission wrote, “A very happy #Diwali to all! May this Diwali season illuminate your homes with happiness, peace, and prosperity. Best wishes from the Singapore High Commission”
Echoing the festive spirit, the Embassy of Iran in New Delhi also extended its greetings to the people and Government of India.
The mission further emphasised the role of Diwali in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutual goodwill.
“We extend our warmest greetings and best wishes to the people and Government of #India on the joyous occasion of #Diwali,” the embassy said in its post. “May this festival of lights bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to the people of India and strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two nations.”
The international messages underscore Diwali’s growing recognition as a global celebration, symbolising not only spiritual triumph but also unity, goodwill, and shared cultural values.
With significant Indian diaspora communities across the world, countries like the UAE and Singapore however, continue to honour Indian festivals with enthusiasm and respect.
Also, Diwali festivities commenced with Dhanteras on Saturday, with the main day of celebration set for Monday.
Across India, homes are being decorated with lamps, sweets prepared, and prayers offered to Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and prosperity.
The heartfelt wishes from global leaders and diplomats, however, reflect the festival’s universal appeal and the strong cultural ties India shares with many nations.
As the festival of lights continues to shine across borders, it brings with it a message of peace, prosperity, and enduring friendship.
