President Murmu Celebrates Blind Women’s T20 World Cup Heroes At Rashtrapati Bhavan

President Droupadi Murmu hosted the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team at Rashtrapati Bhavan after their historic victory in the first Blind Women’s T20 World Cup.

The team met the President on Saturday and presented her with an autographed cricket bat.

The President congratulated the players for their remarkable achievement. She said their victory would inspire countless people to aim higher in life and career. She appreciated the team’s determination and commitment.

The players also handed her a cricket ball for signing. The President signed it and expressed her admiration for their courage and discipline. A message on X confirmed the warm interaction.

On Friday, President Murmu attended the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharat Scouts and Guides.

She addressed the organisation’s 19th National Jamboree in Lucknow. President Murmu said Bharat Scouts and Guides had shaped young minds for 75 years.

Youth Leadership Emphasised

President Droupadi Murmu added that the organisation consistently encouraged youth to take part in nation-building. She praised the group for its strong commitment to service.

The President said Scouts and Guides always respond first during crises. She mentioned floods, earthquakes and epidemics as examples where their contribution stood out. She admired the organisation’s role in promoting national unity.

The President noted that India has over 6.3 million Scouts and Guides. This makes the Bharat Scouts and Guides one of the largest such organisations globally.

She expressed happiness that more than 2.4 million girls are active members. She applauded them for choosing a path rooted in discipline, dedication and service to society.

The President reminded the gathering that Scouts and Guides follow the motto ‘Be Prepared’.

She said every young person must stay ready to face future challenges. She advised the members to build confidence and determination.

President Droupadi Murmu urged them to sharpen their technical skills, communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership abilities.

She added that these qualities would guide them throughout life.

President Murmu’s interactions with the cricketers and the Scouts and Guides highlighted her message of empowerment, discipline and national pride.
