A spokesman for the Gaza Health Ministry announced on Sunday that the second-largest hospital in the Gaza Strip has been placed completely out of service.

“There are only four medical staffers currently caring for patients at the Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis”, Ashraf al-Qidra revealed.

“The Nasser medical complex serves as the southern Gaza Strip’s primary healthcare facility. Its failure to work is a death sentence for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced in Khan Younis and Rafah”, Ashraf al-Qidra concluded.

Qidra stated that a scarcity of fuel and violence surrounding the facility had rendered it inoperable.

Nasser was Gaza’s largest operational hospital until Sunday, and it had been under siege all week during Israel’s conflict with the Palestinian group Hamas.

Israeli troops invaded the hospital on Thursday.
