Indian artisans brought the country’s rich artistic heritage to the forefront through handcrafted installations created for the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Swadesh artisans from across India brought generations of skill and tradition together to create an elaborate world of craft for the festivities at the Ambani residence.
The installations featured a wide range of regional art forms, including Moradabad metalwork, Banaras handlooms, Rajasthan’s Pichwai, Gujarat’s Bandhani, Maharashtra’s Banjara embroidery and Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua beadwork.
The collection, however, highlighted Bihar’s Madhubani, West Bengal’s Sholapith, Telangana’s double ikat, Karnataka’s Channapatna woodturning, and Andhra Pradesh’s Kalamkari and Etikoppaka toys.
Together, these traditions reflected India’s cultural diversity and the generations of knowledge preserved by artisan communities.

The installations came together under the vision of Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation and Dhirubhai Ambani International School, and a director of Reliance Industries. Her vision, however, placed traditional Indian craftsmanship at the heart of the festive décor.
Artisans translated that vision into handmade creations that combined devotion, cultural expression and artistic imagination.
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) described the installations as a collective offering of devotion to Bappa, shaped by the hands and hearts of India’s craftspeople.
The initiative highlighted how traditional arts can remain relevant within contemporary celebrations. It recognised the artisans who continue to preserve India’s shared cultural legacy through their skills and creativity.
