India Slams Pakistan For Spreading Lies; Asks Islamabad To Vacate Occupied Territory

Jaiswal responded after Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks about Pakistan’s role in terrorism “misleading and one-sided.”

Islamabad

India on Tuesday slammed Pakistan for “spreading lies” about Kashmir and demanded that it vacate Indian territory under its “illegal and forcible occupation.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stressed that Pakistan’s support for cross-border terrorism remains the biggest obstacle to peace in the region.

“We note that Pakistan has once again made some comments about the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The world knows that Pakistan actively promotes and sponsors cross-border terrorism. This stands as the biggest roadblock to peace and security in the region,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

Jaiswal responded after Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks about Pakistan’s role in terrorism “misleading and one-sided.”

PM Modi Labels Pakistan An Epicentre Of Terror

Earlier, PM Modi told US-based podcaster Lex Fridman that Pakistan has become a hub of global terrorism. He highlighted that the trail of most major terror attacks, including September 11, leads to Pakistan.

“Wherever terror strikes in the world, the trail somehow leads to Pakistan. The mastermind behind 9/11, Osama bin Laden, was found hiding in Pakistan. The world knows that terrorism and the terrorist mindset are deeply rooted there,” Modi said.

India Calls On Pakistan To End State-Sponsored Terrorism

PM Modi urged Pakistan to abandon state-sponsored terrorism for the larger good of its people. He said Pakistanis deserve a future free from violence and fear.

“When I became PM, I invited Pakistan to my swearing-in ceremony to turn over a new leaf. Yet, every attempt at peace met with hostility and betrayal. We hope wisdom prevails and they choose peace,” Modi added.
